Although RIM lost some reputation with the recent news about slow network access in Indonesia, and whether or not it was actually a problem on RIM's end, it is time to switch to more joyful news. And this time, Indonesia has been blessed generously by RIM. To get a small taste of just how popular BlackBerry smartphones are in Indonesia, the above YouTube video shall both answer your question and be of entertainment for as long as it lasts.
As RIM is actively trying to enhance the relationship with BlackBerry loving Indonesia, the next step was the establishment of a local Indonesian entity called PT Research in Motion. Also, as reported earlier, an office located in central Jakarta has now opened its doors, proving RIM's commitment to make BlackBerry smartphones accessible to just about any and everyone. The new entity will provide carrier and distributor partners throughout Indonesia with sales and marketing support as well as cooperate with local companies to provide BlackBerry users in Indonesia a more complete BlackBerry experience.
"Establishing PT. RIM Indonesia is a milestone for our company and testament to the long-term commitment and investment we are making in Indonesia. Thanks to the support and approval of the Indonesian Investment Approval Board to incorporate PT. RIM Indonesia, we are excited to be opening our local office and growing our local team." commented Gregory Wade, Managing Director of RIM, South East Asia.
