BlackBerry App Roundup Feb 18

Howdy and welcome to the weekly app roundup! I read Kevin’s email to Rovio, in which he was wondering/pleading/praying Angry Birds would eventually see the light of a backlit BlackBerry screen. Remember Kevin, that it is all fun and games. Angry birds in real life are far from fun. They tend to get pretty good at aiming their little “bombs”.

Today, we announce the winners of the PhotoClub giveaway and also give you the chance to win one of 25 copies of InfoBox! Have a rootin’ tootin’ weekend! Giddy up!

Freebies of the Week: uTrack Lite, Share A Photo, Pro Football Draft Insider – NFL News

Freebies Of The Week:

uTrack Lite

uTrack Lite - This novel way of managing your daily tasks is one of the easiest and most effective ways to streamline your life. This application allows you to visualize your daily tasks letting you know where you stand with just a glance. You can track your work tasks, school assignments, family obligations, etc.

The concept is simple. You have a virtual ‘wall’ where you can put up sticky notes with your to do's. Once you decide to start the task, simply drag the sticky note from the ‘to do’ column to ‘in progress’. Move the task to the 'verify' column should you feel the need to revisit it after completion. Once the task is finally completed drag it to the ‘done’ column.

At any point in time, you could delete tasks or clean your wall completely.

In Case You Missed It:

Photo Translator

Photo Translator - Just take a picture of text in any language using your BlackBerry camera and Photo Translator will instantly capture the text and translate it.

It's incredibly useful in situations when quick translation is needed: in airports, train or bus stations, restaurants and many other places. For example, with Photo Translator, there's no need to remember the meanings of all those "pithiviers" or "madeleines"; just take a picture of the menu and find out exactly what it is that you're thinking of ordering.

Reliable OCR (optical character recognition) technology allows you to grab the text from images in a few seconds. Translated text can be saved to Memo, sent by email, or used in other apps. Save results for later reference and quickly search through them.

Photo Translator supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Czech, Dutch, Greek, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Arabic, Croatian, Hebrew, and many other languages.

MyBinary Clock

MyBinary Clock - Impress your friends by putting a binary clock on your BlackBerry! The idea of the binary clock is simple. • Pure Binary Mode.
  • Binary Coded Digital Mode.
  • Includes full details for reading each display mode.
